at the Museo Diocesano in Milano
The painting by Sandro Botticelli called "La Giuditta" will be exhibited in Milan for the first time from October 1st to December 14th, 2008 at the religious museum
di Milano. A true Renaissance masterpiece on loan from the prestigious Uffizi Gallery in Florence, this painting is well worth a visit. Although the subject matter, the "Giudiita" is not a new one, and has been present in Italian art since the medieval, Botticelli depicts the Giuditta in a completely new way narrating the scene in two compositions. The extraordinary beauty and delicate details of the figure and face is Botticelli's characteristic trait.
Located in Corso di Porta Ticinese 95, the Diocesano Museum is open every day from 10am to 6pm except on Mondays. (Remember this is the day that most museums and some shops close, so always check before going.)
