SALDI SALDI - One of the two official annual sales periods in Milan is NOW!! July 5th, the first Saturday in of the month, marks the beginning of the summer shopping spree hunt. Be sure to save some money for your summer holidays, too!

The sales period usually lasts till the first week of August, but the best selection is in the first days and some shops will be open on Sundays as well to accommodate the rush. After this period, many of the shops will close for their summer holidays.

If you have played your cards right, you have already been window shopping for your favorite brands in those exclusive boutiques in the center of town. Your have no doubt seen the signs SALDI SALDI all over the shop windows with discounts anywhere from 20% - 90% off! Now is your chance to get buy that great pair of sandals, that colorful handbag, that little black dress, or that frivolous head-turning outfit.

In the Fashion Quadrangle district near the city's center of Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, and the little side streets of Via Sant’ Andrea, Via Gesù, Via Santo Spirito, and Via Borgospesso, the most important fashion designers, names like: Armani, Dolce & Gabana, Roberto Cavalli, Gianfranco Ferre’, Versace, Valentino, etc., offer their luxurious creations at special discounted prices. Other good shopping streets are in the Corso Vercelli area, to the west, (Red line, MM Pagano–MM Conciliazione) the Corso Genova, Corso di Porta Ticinese area to the south, Corso XXII Marzo to the east, and Corso Buenos Aires to the northeast, (Red/green line MM Loreto – MM Porta Venezia). Don’t forget to stop at your favorite local shops, too, for their special promotional items. Wherever you go, however, examine the merchandise carefully. If it looks - too good - to be true, it might not be such a bargain!

Your next chance for renewing your winter wardrobe at great prices will be the first Saturday in January, so plan ahead!
